Glitz & Glamour: MAKE IT WORK THIS SEASON!!!

Sure, the STARS get to wear undeniably fabulous couture clothing us "normal" people do not have access to, but you do not need to have $100 million beans in the bank to get your black tie garments correct. :)

 IT'S PRIMARILY ABOUT CONFIDENCE !!!!

Have you heard this before?  Well, you're going to hear it a lot more, because in fashion, it's all about the confidence.  Staying current is still a very big MUST.  You can find up to date styles in your local department stores and boutiques at an affordable price.  My point is that no matter what you wear, the outfit looks 100x better on a person who is absolutely confident in their own skin.

Take for example, Angelina Jolie who is beyond fabulous.  At the Golden Globes this year she rocked out in Versace, and then wore a much more casual dress by Packham at the SAG awards.  She is the queen of switching up her style with confidence, and as a result, everyone pays more attention to her on the red carpet.

Gentlemen also rocked it out this year on the red carpet.  Although men are more simple, wearing the right fit of a suit is of the utmost importance.  Below is Brad, Gerard, and Leo.  Boy are they handsome!!!

TODAY'S STREET STYLE OF MIXING & MATCHING

You're not the only one noticing people mixing and matching different fabrics that normally seem mismatchedToday, mixing formal with informal is what designers are sleekly doing, blurring the lines of what is supposed to be in fashion, rather than what should be!

In my diligent review of the 2012 fashion collections, I have noticed this trend to be more commonly placed amongst men, and here and there in the repetoire of women.

What this style is revealing is that you can mix your work wear with your street wear to asymmetrically create a novel look when going to work or cruising the streets, one of seamless bemusement.  Designers like Dolce & Gabbana (also D&G), J. Crew, and Michael Bastian just to name a few, have transcended this approach to introduce the modern gentleman and avante-garde woman.

Mixing like a master of the formal with informal means to mix luxury garments and eclectic pieces like you do not care (but we know you do!!!), and do it with precision.  Not everything will go with anything is something to remember.  For example, guys can mix a blazer jacket with a nice dark denim pant and still pull off a bowtie and a hat.  Women can do similar by rocking a nice pair of high pumps with denim and a striking blouse and blazer.  You can even wear your dockers with combat boots!

Rock it out, don't be scared! You must have the courage as you would in fearless layering and not care about the right and wrongs.  Mix your outfits up!

THIS BLAZER, THAT BLAZER

Bold prints have risen once again to surface in today's fashion 2012, and the motto that designers are seemingly eager to follow is that bolder is better!  This is true for all garments today, but more specifically for the blazer

Blazers have never gone out of style as you may have noticed in the office or while out and about, but now they have been distinctly tweeked and can now be found to be fantastically tailored.  On the contrary, you have the big double-breasted blazer, which appears to be oversized, and is currently rocking the runways for 2012.

Besides the double-breasted blazer which some of you may find difficult to pull off, there is of course the slim silhouette blazer which is undeniably a modern classic, similar to the look the men wear in the hit tv show Mad Men.    Sleek!  Women can style their single-breasted jacket with a draped blouse and slim pants and look extremely current and fashion forward.  Fabulous!  The tailored pieces take on a almost mind-boggling different feel when paired with statement making bold shoes.

Depending on where you're reading from, hot climate or cold climate, the blazer can be worn with layers as you can see in the image to the right.  In order to pull off this look, you have to be able to understand fearless layering and combinations.  You can mix and match work clothes with weekend wear as long as the fit is right, the pieces are well-made, and your confidence is in tact.

No matter what you wear, a confident stride is key and crucial, and by doing so you ultimately wear the blazer, the blazer does not wear you.  Put your best foot forward 2012!

THE EPIDEMIC OF THE STRIPE!

Do stripes make you look thinner or heavier?

They're popping everywhere, and represent one of the trendiest looks for the 2012 spring/summer season!

Whether or not stripes make you look thinner or heavier would depend particularly on the design in which the stripe is placed since fashion has so many different formats of the aforementioned:  from horizontal, diagonal, to vertical, etc.  One would be surprised at how vastly different the countless textiles of stripes each appear on the human body, and at how transformed a look can become from their use.

Woohoo to being able to change how you look with what you wear!
This is why fashion is a billion dollar industry.  Successful & very creative designers are able to bring back previously used textiles and magically reinvent them.

Brilliant 19th Century German physicist Helmholtz discovered that horizontal stripes give off the illusion that one is taller, and conversely that the vertical stripe provides a widening affect.  Helmholtz spread his theory of his revelation of the stripe to as many audiences as he could, especially the female population.  As a result, he emphatically encouraged women to wear horizontal stripes in his book entitled Handbook of Physiological Optics.

Not only are horizontal stripes super trendy and spunky, but its illusion elongates the body, making it appear to be more three-dimensional.  Vertical stripes will accentuate your girth, therefore you will not find them on many magazines this coming year in 2012.

All the top designer's made sure that stripes were well represented in the spring/summer line up. From dresses, shirts, skirts, and even slacks, not to mention shoes and handbags stripes made a splash on this seasons runway.

Do yourself an incredible justice and quickly add horizontal stripes to your wardrobe.  It's a classic item that will never go out of style, and it will elongate your figure by naturally accentuating your shape, both ladies and gentlemen.  If you shop around wisely, you can find articles of clothing that follow this unstoppable trend at very affordable prices from stores like Macy's, Ross, TJ Maxx, and Forever XXI just to name a few.  Your more higher priced brands like Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, Diesel, Guess by Marciano, and Christian Louboutin are following this trend almost religiously and horizontal stripes are available right now on their shelves!

Happy Holidays everyone!  Put your best foot forward and sport stripes for summer/spring 2012!

THE END OF SKINNY

The time has come, yes, where skinny jeans are simply no longer relevant.  Go ahead! Pick up your sharpest pair of art scissors and turn your no longer fabulous skinny jeans into the newest pair of funky shorts!

Summer/Spring Fashion Week 2012 in Australia, Milan, and New York have premiered the latest trend of pants, and they are wider for both suits and separates.  The full design of the pant is loose throughout, starting towards the hip and upper leg towards bottom.

The objective of this look is to appear as if you do not care, but we all know that you really do if you plan on putting your best foot forward

You do not need to spend an arm and a leg to own this look this season.  Macy's has a myriad of great deals on the latest loose, well-branded pants and they are surprisingly affordable!  Stay up to date, impress your friends, and ALWAYS put your best foot forward by staying current.

Grand Opening!

Welcome Everyone to Foreword 2 Fashion! My name is Ricky Muniz, and I am going to educate you on fashion and what is in when it is in.

A little about myself:  I am a fashionista by nature, have always clinged to it naturally, and am currently studying the business behind fashion.  I have modeled a great deal locally and in New York, and have participated in a plethora of fashion shows.  Photoshoots are my favorite, and I have a very extensive portfolio which I will preview shortly.

My primary goal here is not to tell you what to wear, but to aid you when you are clueless what garments to shop for, what textiles are in, and what not to wear.  It is important to always remember that the outer is a reflection of the inner.  An interest in fashion is not superficial, but crucial.  Always put your best foot forward, and first impressions are infinite!

Thus, Welcome to my site!  I hope you continue to visit and stay tuned for more to come!
